Resumen

El acceso a la justicia, entendida como la posibilidad de reclamar derechos legítimos ante instancias formales o informales que tienen capacidad de hacerlos efectivos, es un componente fundamental del Estado de Derecho, y su ausencia pone en tela de juicio la existencia real de la ciudadanía. El presente estudio pretende medir el nivel de acceso a la justicia, teniendo como objetivos generales el contribuir a la comprensión de las necesidades judiciales existentes en la población de Uruguay, estudiando las brechas entre la demanda potencial y la efectiva y los contextos en la que ésta se desarrolla. También busca contribuir al estudio de las formas de resolución de conflictos en la vida cotidiana, y su relación con el ejercicio de la ciudadanía en Uruguay.(...)
